Usually, there are two types of electrode, Ignition electrodes and flame sensing electrodes. The Ignition electrode is responsible for making the spark that starts the burner. The flame sensing electrodes are responsible for ensuring there is a flame present in the burner. This is an important safety device that makes sure the boiler isn’t still supplying gas without a flame.

This part is present in 47 different boilers in the Vaillant range including the Vaillant VU 126/5-5 , ecoTEC PLUS (2012-CURR), VU 156/5-5 , ecoTEC PLUS (2012-CURR), VU 186/5-5.

Seals and  gaskets are used in lots of different areas within your central heating boiler. They are used to create seals between pipework and other parts within the boiler. Heat exchangers, gas valves and many others parts require orings, washers and gaskets to prevent leaks of gas or water occuring.
